Voice in my speakers??
    #8219557 - 03/31/08 01:54 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

A few months ago I noticed if I turn up my computer speakers to max volume, I hear some redneck talking. Now I hear him every single day. Sometimes the mother fucker screams in the morning and wakes me up because I left my speakers on.

I'm thinking its a CB radio frequency that my speakers somehow picked up because I only hear one side of the conversation - this same fucking annoying redneck talking about his old lady cooking for him and "cuttin'" somebody up.

Anybody know how this could be happening?
And is there a way I can talk back to this guy? After a few months of listening to his bullshit while sitting at my computer, I've got a few things I'd like to say...

it has to be from your computer speakers dont pick up radio frequencies, only sound from the slot of your computer

Yeah its happening because most electronics MUST accept any and all interference from other machines so they dont interfere with Government and police stuff/TV channels, airplanes etc.
Its a FCC law and probably says so on the tag on the back of the speaker.
It most likely is either a CB or something similar your picking up through Radio interference when the waves hit the coil on your speaker its getting amplified.
I would just get a hand cb and scan around the channels until you find him.
Then speak your mind. You could probably find one to borrow since they aint cheap or one of them new walkie talkies they sell often pick up CB traffic if there a good 8 mile one or even better. Look around.

if speakers dont pick up radio frequencies then how do they transfer sweet sweet music from the radio to our ears? they do pick up radio frequencies,... almost any electronic object will, the wire coil in a speaker is just copper wires wrapped up
...which we all know is an effective antenna. In this instance it just allows it to flow through and come out the other end, but all the other electronics in his house are picking it up too, even the fridge,
it just cant transfer it out like a speaker. You ever stuck a battery to a speaker and got static? Thats radio interference from electricity and its being amplified thru the speaker.

It is a CB and the talker is probably with in sight of your house. Look for a tall vertical antenna mounted on a chimney, pole, tower tree or piece of pipe. It also could be someone who only has a mobile unit and sits in their car or driveway and talks on it.

It's not your speaker that it's coming through. It's the little amplifier circuit built into them that picks it up. Common type of interference.

Having been around them all of my life I find this thread hilarious.

I agree that it's probably a guy nearby on his CB, possibly with an illegal signal booster.

I dunno what the hell that is, but when I was hooking up some computer speakers at my girlfriend's place (old, built in 1880s), I heard some old woman talking with some creepy old music in the background. I hope I was just picking up some old people/jazz radio station. If not, I think her speakers might be communicating with ghosts. Maybe I'll get a recording of it.

I've had speakers pick up radio stations before. Probably a CB or a radio station.

My computer speakers used to get a shitty country music station and static if they were on low volume.

Speakers are sweet like that.

Ya, that makes sense, because the sound only comes faintly out of the left speaker.

I'm definitely going to go to wal mart and buy a cheap little radio and try to find this mother fucker, say my piece, then return the radio.

Oh man it's gonna feel good to give this guy a piece of my mind. You can't imagine how irate I get when I'm woken up to this redneck sayin "HELLOOOOOO EEEEEEEE GOOOD MORNNINNNN TOOOOOO YALLLL WOOOOEEEEEE gotta get my old lady to cook me up some SASSAGE!!! SASSAGE!!" just because I forgot to turn my fucking speakers off the night before. :crankey:

Reminds me of an old cell phone of mine (or possibly a house phone.. heaven forbid) that used to receive conversations from random ass people, I'm assuming my neighbors. Some of those calls were pretty kinky, too bad I couldn't talk back ^^

Back when I lived just north of Atlanta, in little "redneck Smyrna," as National Geo called it, my guitar amp would pick up this rinky-dink little fire-and-brimstone preacher on a cheesy AM radio station coming out of Belmont Hills Shopping Center just down the road. And more often than not, I'd have my phaser on the guitar, so this old backwoods country baptist preacher would sound all distorted and demonic. It was a hoot just to plug up the amp and listen to him wail. I wish I'd recorded it. It sounded most ungodly as he called down the wrath of god on all sinners. "For the wages of sin is death, my friends! Satan holds the mortgage on your soooooooooul!!!"

a couple of times i had a weird experience with my cell phone when some friends would come up to school to visit. i lived only like 1-1.5 hrs from my hometown and they would drive up. however when they would leave our cell phones would completely fuck up in that when somebody would call me, his phone would ring and vice versa. it only would last for a little while but it was weird as hell because the provider would mix up our identification numbers somehow. idk it was strange.
