Incubator Temp?

What temp should my incubator be at? Its at 84.2F right now, should i lower it or leave it?

i'd drop it a little bit.

you dont need an incubator though. they will grow on their own without an incubator.

Ok, right now its dropped down to 83.7F. I just wanted an Incubator to speed it up a bit.

I would definitely lower it. They say that mycelium generates it's own heat as it grows, so the center of your substrate is probably higher than your incubator temp.

Like robotnik said, you really don't need to incubate, but if you have the things to do it go for it.

I'd suggest a temp around high 70's. Try to get it around 76-79*F.

yeah, if you're gonna raise incubation temps, you should keep it in the mid seventies since the mycelial growth is exothermic (generates heat)...there is a post here somewhere talking about how incubating above mid-seventies actually slows growth.

RR says 75-80 is optimal which would bring it up to ~77-82 with the added heat from mycelium.
