To Dunk or not to Dunk?

Hello to all I have been having very low yields for my last several go arounds. I am ready to birth some cakes and I am considering dunking for 10-12 hours right after birthing then putting them in the fruiting chamber. Any opinions on this!

go ahead skip dunking since you waited 2-4 weeks for mycelium another 24 hours will kill you and probably about half your flush... '

I am going to try a dunk and roll before I go into the fruiting chamber, I have read many posts on dunk times, anyone care to give their opinion? How long should I dunk my cakes for?.....Thanks......G

I dunk mine everytime before fruiting. It definatley improves the flush. I have seen you can also use a capfull of bleach per gallon of water for your dunking solution. Which can help keep away contams.

yeah dude never skip dunking in your life....
even if you do a bulk grow using a kiddie pool you MUST FIND A WAY TO DUNK THAT SON OF A BITCH.

I did a 24 hour dunk and roll on 24 cakes, I had much better pinning, but I still seem to have a problem. The first flush produced 15-20 full sized caps all others just did not reach proper size and then just start to rot??? The chamber was running at 72-75 and the humidity was averaging between 90-95%, I open the door 3 times a day for gas exchange. At this point I am not sure if I should try increasing or decreasing the 15 min/hour of humidifying...I am at a loss I ran the cakes at 15 psi for 15 min and I have had zero contamination on my last 8 dozen cakes. Any Ideas???????

aborts stop growing and start rotting, you should keep a better eye on them and pull them if they stop growing. aborts can be caused by a bunch of reasons. nutrients, genetics, humidity fluctuations, high co2 (lack of FAE)

clone a good one and it may improve your luck

I have been pulling the aborts, as far as the humidity fluctuations go, I am leaning toward increasing the on time from 15/hour to 20/hour I was also thinking of a muffin fan on a timer to help with fresh air intake?

i think increasing the FAE will def do some good. cant hurt to try.
