I for one, am not up for mere biological immortality. I want to ultimately replace my body with a superior, mechanical/biotechnological body.
I want to be shot, and live. Then be hit by a car and live. And then shot in the head and life (and retain my self).
-------------------- "To do right is to know what you want. Now when you are dissatisfied with yourself it's because you are after something you don't really want. What objects are you proposing to yourself? Are they the objects you really value? If they are not, you are cheating yourself. I don't meant that if you chose to pursue the objects you most value, you will attain them; of course not. Your experience will tell you that. But success in getting after much labor what you really don't care for is the bitterest and most ridiculous failure." -George Santayana

Haha i agree, i want that also! However, the biological immortality is a lot closer to happening then the physical immortality. So the only way your going to make it to physical immortality is starting with the biological immortality
Plus, think about getting old.. thats gonna suck

Getting old is gonna suck, i hope i die before i have to use a walking frame or wheelchair. I remember seeing on discovery that we'll be getting close to having our first 150+ year old... and they predict it will happen in this century too, and they also predict it will be some female fishermans wife from a place like okinawa.. haha. It was real specific. but they put it down to a diet high in antioxidants and good nutrition.
immortality seems scary to me, i envision myself going through so many different phases of evil, good, evil, good as centuries pass.

I've been reading a lot about it, however nothing significant seems to come around as of yet. However it is very plausible that we achieve it in the next 50 years, so most likely if you and I desire to do so, we can live very old. This also has a big link with regenerative therapy because we will be pretty damaged when they will find how to pull it off Just stay tuned and talk about it, I think it's standard to want to live forever.
