When I moved out of my parents house I guess I forgot some stuff. Just yesterday my parents call me saying that they have boxed up my crap and that I need to go get it. Once I got back home I started digging through all the shit and stumbled across this cutting. I called my parents and they said they found it on the floor in the closet.
What is really wierd is that is was growing on its side completely unpotted for over 2 years!!
I never would have thought that a cactus could survive that type of environment, let alone GROW!!

I've heard of a few cases where people have picked up a cactus in a plant shop. I don't see why it couldn't happen. Old plant shop women would have no clue about its potential. I don't know what my chances are, but I'm gonna check out my local shop, just in case...

No shit. I potted it immediately in dry cactus mix to give it a chance to root. But I guess I will have to wait and see if it does take.....

It is kinda of hit and miss. There have been a few cases were people have stumbled upon them. Other similar stores have them more fequently

yeah... they're more than likely going to be unmarked if you find them at a wal mart.

That is an awesome cactus, if you're into naming your plants, that is a "Lucky" if I've ever seen one.
Around my area(Phoenix), Target always has atleast four 6" San Pedro cacti (until I leave; they usually run $6.99). I've seen larger at Home Depot, but they are waaay over priced (Around 60ish for 18").
[Edit:I've only seen one correctly marked, and that was at target.]

San Pedro rocks.
I have a garden full of the stuff, and it's amazing how fast it grows! What started as just some little nublets last year are now standing tall.
