Where do you put your casings?
    #820468 - 08/16/02 10:38 AM (21 years, 7 months ago)

Do you put your casings in rubbermaid containers with no bells 'n' whistles, or do you have a fancy setup or even nothing at all?

What should the humidity be kept at?

three in the rubbermaid like phrozen said is the way to go. add an inch or two of moist perlite on the bottom to humidify it... lifting the top off 4-5 times/24 hrs to fan out the stagnant air.

Having not yet cased anything yet, I cant say what I DO do, but I can say what Im going to do. Ive seen quite a few people with these sort of zip-up closets within their closets, and am off to get supplies for one of those today. Im going to use this garnment bag thing from wal-mart, thats about 5 feet high, 15 inches wide, and 20 inches deep. Use some chain to add shelves [which will be made of chicken wire] and then Ill have my humidifier sitting on the bottom!

This is actually a fiarly cheap thing to do believe it or not.

Sterlite 58 Quart transparent container UPSIDE DOWN with the casing in a flat cake/lasagne pan and a small loaf pan of moist perlite beside it sitting on the lid.

1" hole filled with polyfil for air exchange.
