Many of you on here have stated the benefits of fasting. Now I'm gonna do it and see what happens. I'm gonna do a water fast. What's the longest I can fast on just water safely and any other suggestions are welcome. thx!

The human body can survive a surprisingly long time on water alone, but it is nowhere near six months. When the body is deprived of new fuel (i.e., food), it breaks into its energy reserves to keep going. The body stores energy in the form of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins.
After one day without food, the body will have used up its carbohydrates, which are stored as glycogen in liver and muscle cells. After that, it's on to the fat reserves. Your average Joe/Jane, weight-wise, has enough fat reserves to live for four to six weeks without food. After that, the body begins to use its protein reserves (basically, the body itself). Body proteins are used up at a much faster rate than fat, and you could really only get another two to three weeks out of protein. At that point, however, you can't really call it living since so much irreparable damage has been done to the body, including the brain.
Bottom line: an average person could live for about eight weeks on water alone, give or take about a week for an over- or underweight person, respectively.

doesn't sound like a good idea at all to me.. i fasted for ramadan where you cant drink water or anything during the day so i would wake up and brush my teeth and then dont eat until sundown.. and even when the sun went down you weren't supposed to pig out, just eat a few dates and shit.
anyways i did it for a week.. no food or drink all day every day for a week and ate a little bit at night..
it was alright, but i didn't feel healthy, but one could survive that way.. i wouldn't maintain body weight if i did that all the time though.. you'd lose tons of weight if you did that more than a week or two.
btw i'm not muslim or anything but my buddy was and got me to do it with him and i was down just to see what it's like. takes lots of will power. cant even chew gum or anything.

Would fasting get rid of the excess chemicals in me like fluoride and shit? Is there a way that I can find out if there's fluoride in my water? And do water bottles contain fluoride?

Have you ever heard of a cleanse?
Try the master cleanse...cheap and seems to be what you look for.
-------------------- The mind is a creative tool. It searches to protect you, through message sensations(feelings). It is no different than a computer, you need to make sure its anti-virus program is in check and that it doesnt have a script that limits your experience, because of to much precaution. And remember the computer does not appear to respond to words of anger and frustration - just give it input, in the form of new meanings that you know to be true and its messages to you and the limits it lays out for you, will change. Guilt is an outcome of believing you are the cause of the problems. Yet, we are not a cause to something, we see is negative or bad - Unless you believe your intentions are directed towards a bad outcome....

I heard the master cleanse isn't that healthy for your colon/body (if thats the same thing I am thinking of).
I have also been interested in fasting though, so if anyone here has done it, please post your experiences

I too am interested in doing a fast. I kind of slacked for the past 2 months and said screw the gym. I'm going back to my 5 mile a day, 5 days a week thing at Bally but I definitely want a good fast/diet before I begin the exercising. I hate feeling all bloated.

Not everyone does well with fasting - thin people and those who are particularly sensitive to cold have a more difficult time. If that's the case, you probably should reconsider fasting. I would also caution about being overly active during a fast. Not only should you rest your digestive system, but you should also take time to rest your entire body.

So far so good guys I definitely am already noticing a difference. I'm really clear headed. How long does the laxative tea take to usually work cause I haven't pooped yet.

that's good.
maybe it's the shitty weed finally getting out of your system.
weed sucks if you smoke it all the time. fucks up yo brain.
i dunno if you smoke though..
you'd be amazed what being properly hydrated feels like though.. like with enough water in your system

Fasting is amazing. It is an ancient way of cleansing and healing the body. I highly recommend it.
Resources:
The Motherload
Fasting Support
The MOST IMPORTANT thing about fasting is breaking the fast properly. Make SURE you break it on raw fresh juices and go very gentle on your belly for a few days after the fast is over, only fruit and vegetables. Do your research and read all you can about fasting. The more you know about it, the more you will know how to deal with detox symptoms the longer you fast.
Fasting is wonderful challenge for the mind and repairs the body. I've experienced the benefits myself many times and can only reiterate that my life was changed in a positive way through my fasting.
Educate and safe journey! Fasting is such a trip.

Try 100% raw foods for 30 days and see how you feel!
