Are those King Bollettes I see in some of those pics? If they are you are truly a lucky man.

i was unaware that there was a bioluminescent honey mushroom. i would very much like to aquire spores for them. in addition, i would like spores for any other bioluminescent mushrooms, edible or not. some of the students at my school have expressed an interest in trying to get such to grow as a project.

are this species of honey mushroom edible?

any help appriciated, pm me or e-mail me if you can help.

Be cautious about cultivating Armillaria species. Unfortunately, they are extremely damaging parasites of trees, causing the disease "oak root rot" or "shoestring root rot". All of them are considered edible, but they are also responsible for more poisoning reports than any other edible species. If you choose to eat them, be certain they are well cooked. Incidentally, currently the genus Armillaria only includes Armillaria tabescens and those species once known collectively as Armillaria mellea.

As far as luminescent fungi, the species I know of offhand are Armillaria species, Mycena chlorophos, Mycena citricolor, Panellus stipticus, and Omphalotus illudens. Note, by the way, that Omphalotus illudens, the Jack O'Lantern mushroom, is a notoriously poisonous mushroom when eaten.

This site seems to be dedicated to bioluminescent organisms and might be helpful.

excellent, this way, since i've never tried to cultivate honey mushrooms, i won't have to worry about actually getting a fruitbody to form. the kids will want to see the jars glow, and that should be good nuff.

the fact that the mushrooms themselves don't glow, explains why i didn't know there were bioluminescent honeys, kuz there aren't. could you be specific on species, so that i can find a sporebank that has some, or would someone like to contribute to the ecucation of some troubled teens and send me a print?

The limit is 8 per day for uploading pictures to the shroomery server.

None of the picture in my post is uploaded to the shroomery, they are all on an external server:

>Did you catch the frog? Stamets has them in his grow rooms to catch gnats...

No, it was so lame, I can?t imagine that it would be able to catch anything

I went today there also, here?s the result:

Bottom left Boletus edulis and Boletus pinophilus.
Bottom right Leccinum scabrum var. melaneum.
Top left Agaricus, possibly bitorquis or subperonatus or ???
Top right Xerocomus badius.
