How to inniate pinning
    #818368 - 08/15/02 05:00 PM (14 years, 3 months ago)

Okay... got a casing of birdseed and coir. I can see Mycelium growing to the top of the casing material, but not covering it yet. The temp has been in the mid 70's, fan 3 times a day, and humidity is high. I have some old cakes that never pinned, just got covered with mycelium and lots of knots then turned blue and haven't fruited at all. I don't want this same thing to happen with my casing, I can't tell if they're any knots on the casing or not. Anyway.... should it start to do everything on its own from here on? Just keep everything as it is? Or is there something else I am forgetting to do?

wrap your casing in a garbage bag and tie it up. pop it in the fridge for 24 hours. and then pop it in your terarium. you should be seeing pins 3-5 days after you put it in the terrarium. hope this helps

Good Luck!
