Long Walk Home (poetry)

This is a poem in three parts.

The Long Walk Home

1.
I wanted to tell you
I love you.
And that love is all anybody really needs,
It was the thing we were looking for,
That thing so long absent,
Was there infront of everyone for so long.
Love, the thing that connected us,
You and me. Me and her. Me and Them.
Love.
I called to tell you I love you.

2.
Spinning and shifting
speeding and slowing
dropping bits of color everywhere
A drop for me and a drop for you,
Like a rain drop;
breathing, sighing.
singing, crying,
dying, living,
loving, trying...

3.
I feel clean,
and pure,
like shoes with hundreds of miles,
re-souled;
life in every step,
life in every word.
Like a good journey gives you;
peace of mind.
It wasn't the coming or the going
It's been the spaces between,
the alleys forgotten,
all of the rain puddles Never jumped in.
