If I wanted to remove a casing from a tray...
    #8182550 - 03/23/08 04:14 AM (16 years, 9 days ago)

would it be okay to lay polyfill on the perlite and the cake on the polyfill?

Any other suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Are you referring to the h-poo casing which is only halfway into its first flush?

to answer your Q, yes you can, but dont use polyfill, use foil or other...

your casing is healthy, and given the risk of contamination through handling and moving, i see no real reason to not keep it as a casing. let it do its thing, and plan ur next grow now, you'll be ready to spawn by the time this one is done.. just my opinion..

I wish you luck...

I mean a small 6x10x3 pan. It was in a container and started side pinning. Side pinning annoys me so I removed it from the pan and laid it inside a shotgun style fc on on polyfill.

everytime I use something under a cake it turns green on the bottom from moisture build up. so, im testing polyfill.

I expect the mono to be harvested in a few days, how can I have spawn by that time?

That was based off the assumption it was the casing in the post you deleted, which holds true..

but anyway, there are only two things i can think of off hand to worry about,,

1. polyfill can wick water, which could over saturate the bottom of your sub given some time, possibly causing contams or slowed or halted growth.

2. while we know its non-nutritious, should a nutritious substance get on it, a contam will grow on/in it no problem. best to sterilize it before putting anything on it.

then again, you could be fine... keep us updated on how it turns out, i dont know of anybody ever using polyfill this way...

I wish you luck:thumbup:
