so, what is your major area of science, chemistry? physics? what's something you're interested in, what do you think of the protein folding page?

here's a good question, we've all seen fusion in nature, in stars, does fission occur in nature?

this is a question that's hard to find online.. there's no fission in an unstable fusion explosion? a fission explosion releases protons.. right? that cause a chainreaction of protons destroying other atoms, and when these protons are released, they always seem to aim at other atoms. In a fusion bomb, nuetrons are released... i thought the explosion was caused when the lack of stability with fusion caused energy to expand and propel the neutrons released and create a fission reaction which acted in splitting the other atoms apart with nuetrons? this isn't it? it's just the tremendous energy released from the explosion?

i thought nuclear fission and fusion were very similar and related, i thought nuclear fission just had the lack of fusion in the elements, and how could nuclear fusion release so much energy compared to nuclear fission if that is the case and the explosion is just the release of energy?

if people don't want to explain this, they can just point me out to links online, instead of being rude.

they couldn't make a fusion bomb with hydrogen? maybe a shitload of hydrogen contained in the size of a building? also, when the atomic bomb was detonated under water, it created an even bigger explosion because of the density of the water i believe, the molecules being closer together, making it easier for the chain reaction to gain more energy, and spread further..

could the same be done with a hydrogen bomb? if exloded under water... could it gain more momentum and energy and fuse the hydrogen in the water?

aren't there apparently water stars or something? h2o in fusion in stars? i guess i don't know....

that's why i'm asking... questions never hurt
