Did you use WBS? I see the WBS sprout like that in the compost pile and when the birds don't eat fast enough before I water.

- but your grains, thats where your tric came into play. You need not boil your coir, it works, but just hydrate and use a oven tray, and pastureize (if your useing that method) your coir. Boiling can sterilize off any chance for helpfull bacteria in the start of your run. Sterilizing parts of your coir can hurt you more some say. On microscopic level, you destroy things that didn't need to be, that would have in symbosis with the medium- removing them leaves vacant homes for invaded to roll right into.

I am 99% sure, unless your dropping shit into your tub, that the plant is gonna be a millet or a birdseed plant.

i cant see how thats possible i pressure cooked my cars about an hour each 3 at a time.

and ovening and boil would be the same if i just use the same level of heat, how much heat should i use when i boil, if i were to use the oven if would melt the bags, for some reason the water boiling wont, i also have a rag setin the bottom of the pot so it wont melt on contact with the bottom

you planted that to try and be cool..jk

looks as if it may have landed in there somehow?

cause if you cooked your jars it most likly would have sterilize the grain

is that green mold off to the right side of the pic? probly came in w/ that

can plants propagate by wind, fitting through polyfil? and yes i have a terrible infestation of the trich aids.
i guess it has to be a uncooked grain thanks for the comments

Hey! I have the same thing too! I'll post a picture of it tonight as I do not have my camera right now. I think it's something in the coir because I too used coir from a pet store.

I have PC'd jars two times over- GROWN them out, then when I toss them into the compost, some of those wheat berries start to grow. PCing does not kill EVERY single grain.

Seeds are soldiers man, "life will find a way" lol

Tada!

I've seen this before when my friend used horse poo. I doubt it has anything to do with your contamination.

You really shouldn't be boiling the coir. Pasteurization and boiling are not the same thing. That of course would only help with the trich and not the plants.

well heat through a plastic bag is heat through a plastic bag i would think either way its getting the same temperature the coir isn't actually sitting in the water boiling its pre-expanded
