so i went to go see les this past sat
it was quite the time my freind max flew out from denver to visit and to see the show. so the day went as such
drove up to portland, picked up max chilled around P drove back down south to get our camping sitch set up drove back up. parked under a rainbow in down town portland and set off for the venue
heres where several snafoos reared there ugly heads. first. we had parked obsenly far from the venue, like 13 blocks. no biggie tho. it was fun exploring secondly some how in the rigamaroll of getting over to the theatre i lost all my bud some extremly tasty bud too. but oh well we got in line and waited.
the roseland theatre is small as hell. quite lack luster, and dose not sound all that great. but still all these things still some how made the show quite unique and fun.
secrect cheifs 3 opened and i gotta say
fuck yeah best opener i have ever seen. in terms of energy at leased.
they have a very original sound going. super aclectic and beautifuly composed.
anyway from the begining it was clear this was gonna be a moshy show. wich i dont really mind. but there whee quite a few members of portlands skum unk socioty there. as well as just general drunk bastards. anyway les starts. buzzards of green hill! a great happy stopm to start ofd the night. the crowed isent really moshing just kinda gelling into itself. then as the song getts a bit more intense so doess the moshing then less actualy stoped the shom to inform everyone that there was a young couple int he front row getting smashed and to please try to be aware that other people want to enjoy the show too. he said it in a real freindly way tho. it was like "you guys all know your place so lets just get on with it" and for a time it was mellow again then during macalaster people started going ape shit and crowd surfing all over i remember seeing the firdst guy get throw on his ass over the barrior in front and right as he went over les started doing the southbound pacyderm tease he always does in macalaster pretty funny
shine on you crazy dimond was , as always epic then a real treat dutchess a primus tune all right and whats more one iv really been liking latly spread your mind any way some other highlights from the show where an off the charts drum >whamola jam and a reall crazy d's diner wich at one point went be bop crazy with les doing these crazy walking lines and skerike blowin it all jazzy.
bass bango encore: Iowan Gal Master Of Puppets tease Groundhogs Day
encore encore: Electric Funeral
the sabath was the perfect close for a night af itense sonic dredging and sweaty man farts
a grand show over all
the walk and drive back to camp where snaaffos all there own and wont get into it. but suficed to say nitrous oxide inpares your ability to navigate

You ever listen to The Residents? They're one of Les's major musical influences, and my favorite group. If you haven't heard them, you should download some.
Here's their Myspace page.

That's one of the 2 shows that I saw at Langerado and I got it on tape. the highlight for me was John the Fisherman and David Makalaster.

I found a torrent a couple months ago with everything they've ever done. Since then, it's been pretty much all I listen to.
