It`s not necessary to get Roadkill's advice. Come on. He knows what he`s talking about, YEs. But so do alot of us here as well. I`ve grown out enough bulk tubs to be able to give my 5c worth. I have re-pasteurised poo 3 times and the spawned it and it worked perfectly for me.

Yes, this is what I feel too. I was hoping Roadkill would chime in and clarify what he said.. I don't want to speak for him.

I am a studying microbiologist/chemist. I have not come into contact with detailed info reguarding the practice of pasteurisation. As I understand it, the more aggressive organisms tolerate natural conditions (normal temp ranges), while the organisms that tolerate higher temp conditions are not as aggressive...therefore pose a lesser threat to the mycelium of a standard species (P. cube).
I have personally found that p[asteurisation does not work for the micro-organisms in my area. I have had several consecutive pasteurisations go bad. When I sterilised my dung in a PC I found colonisation speed to increase and contamination to cease.
I have not examined this phenomenone in detail, but will continue to PC my dung.
I believe the idea behind pasteurisation is that beneficial organisms will remain that will either help to fight foreign contams or to induce fruiting in certain species. According to Stamets however, P. cubes do not require any bacteria or other organisms to induce healthy fruiting. I don't think that sterilising dung will decrease the successfull spawn run of P. cubes, but actually help in certain environments.
I am drunk and reached real far up my shizznit hole to provide the previous info. I am sure Anno will come along to correct me shortly (the dude is crazy smart).

I heard from Road that if you re-pasteurize something, you are killing off that beneficial bacteria. Is there any truth to that?
I never said that! What I said was >> I would never sterilize horse poo! The reason I wouldn't sterilize it is this... you would lose some beneficial bacteria.
The purpose of pasteurization is to kill or neutralize all harmful organisms.
I have never had to re-pasteurize any poo... so I really don't know if it can be done. I always spawn my poo the day after pasteurizing it.

Very true Derrayld...and I don't have the answers to everything...I'm not an Expert!
In fact my motherboard went out on my computer....that is why I haven't posted in over 12 hours. Thank God a friend brought over his spare computer for me to borrow.
What would you do if I dissapeared for a week or longer? Answer : Ask others that know what they are talking about. There are lots....I repeat lots of people that know what they are talking about on this site.
I don't have the answers for everything! Hell...I don't think I'll ever have the answers to everything!! I read alot...and try to learn all that I can about mycology. Life is a learning experience.....learn all that you can! I still ask a few questions myself... and who do I ask...people like Anno, Joshua, Mushroom John...etc.
Joshua had a problem with pasturized poo and has been sterilizing his poo and hasn't had any problems. I'm sure he will go far in life....He has the ambition and drive!
So who truely knows what works best?
Do what works best for you!!!
