I have heard this used many times. What is the rabbit hole? I have seen it in the form of "is the dark spot in my closet a rabbit hole"? to drugs takening someone down into a rabbit hole. The second of which I understand.

In some of the Trip Reports I've read people say they really see the rabbit hole... If I ever come across one I'm jumping in....Yaaaaaa

you might be thinking of K-hole. Generally the rabbit hole is indeed referring to Alice in Wonderland but the way you seem to be posing your question I think you are talking about the K-hole.

This is a level of "high" when taking ketamine.

when i say the rabbit hole i think of it as a deep trip or a place you've never visited (another world not like euopre) like dreams. when you get deep enough in a trip and you let go your mind lets go it. your mind will show you many things most people come back to reality before this happenes or are afraid of it beacause there is no end to the rabbit hole. you can't see it it's just when you let go and go for a ride. its more then what i'm saying but its very complex. Just when you trip hard let go and see how far the rabbit hole goes.
