I am conducting a research experiment for a course I am in. I have a lot of data and have only a few short weeks to analyze it and organize it into a powerpoint presntation. Which makes me think Access -> Excel (graphs) -> PowerPoint would be the best idea.
The problem being I have used Access since 9th grade. Which was about 8 or 9 years ago. It has evovled a bit and I forget much. I have numerical ranges. Since I get figured out how to express a numerical range as numerical data I have them as text. E.g. 1-2, 2+ for 1-2 hours and 2 or more hours. This is presenting trouble when exporting to excel and making graphs.
So 3 questions.
1.) Best way to insert numerical ranges and keep the data numerical. 2.) Abstract of data analysis options in Access, with a perhaps brief overview if needed. (excel too, but I am more familiar there) 3.) General Comments, after viewing a copy of my survey. (attached)
Lastly, I will have more questions and I anticipate I am asking a lot. So therefore, I am gonna go spend the rest of my night in the library trying to get this working right. I'll check back later tonight with an update.

yah, well I taught myself basic SQL overnight...I need sleep. Got about 200 surveys so far today...off to Office depot for more copies. You think the university would pay for this or something. I'm POOR.

Isn't access just a database program? It doesn't really do statistics does it? You'll need a stats program to do that, unless you are just describing the data. Can you even do a t-test on access?

its the best way I know how to manage my data right now. It exports nicely as an excel, .html, or .xml file though. I can do some basic functions in Access and I'm sure between excel and .xml I can figure something out if need be.
