I knew a guy that worked for GM, he bought 2 vettes each year he
worked there, he'd drive one and resell it at the end of the year,
the other was stored, if he sells them there wont need to be much
work done... if you buy one of these they'll be in good shape

That's very cheap. z06 I could have swore were running 100k and a little more. I think the high end model is but anything under that isn't worth getting imo.

I know about classic cars and all but can't answer your shipping question.

2008 Corvettes run around 38k starting for the base model. The Z06 starts around 65k. When the ZR1 comes out soon it should start around 110k.

my mom bought a 69 mustang mach 1...back in the day (69)

its still in the family. my dad had a 67 corvette stingray convertable that was stolen in the mid 80's. so this is their "midlife crisis car" still it is so tight.

one day, one day....it will be mine

I can tell you anything is in great condition, if I polish the
turd for internet photos, you'll believe it

Yes, this is true, but Chemy, would you mind posting or PMing me the links to wherever you found them? I would be really grateful if I could correspond with the owner and check out the car's history for myself. And even if they live far away, who knows, if they live in a place like Chicago or something I might take a short vacation for a weekend just to take a look at it if I'm really intent on buying it.

like i said. its my dream car.

imma have to decline this one for 3 reasons:
Engine: 350
Odometer: 118,000 miles
and that thing is in DIRE NEED of an expensive paint job

but considering the monthly payments are only $116 for a 6,000 car... i could probably go up to $12-15k. as long as my monthly car payments are not over $200, i will be satisfied. $180 is kind of where its starting to push it.

Okay. I've made up my mind. I'm attending a police auction, because the next one is sometime around May 17th (my suspension for my driver's license ends in June so its not like i need a car IMMEDIATELY). If I don't find any sports cars to my liking, I will then come back to www.corvettetraderonline.com and continue the hunt for my dream car.

Thank you for all your help everybody, especially the ones who gave the links. You guys have been great. If you know of any more corvette dealerships online, or in various cities, please feel free to drop the bomb and let me know. Mucho gracias.

Oi, I just received even better news. My sister has decided to get a new car of her own when she graduates, so thats gonna be around the time i get my car... so she said i can have my volkswagen back. im thinking about selling it, that'll definitely help me out with payments.

okay, so can anybody give me an average price quote on this bitch.... like how much do you think i can sell it for to an individual, or to a dealer (I'd imagine id make more if i sold it to a VW dealership yes, even if i dont trade it in and buy a new VW)? So heres the history on this car: its a 2003 Jetta (i know, typical suburban girl car... dont look at me, i didnt pick the car out, i wanted the Rabbit/Golf due to the higher horsepower and more of its parts being manufactured in Germany rather than with the Jetta, where half its parts are made in Mexico).

anyways, back to the point. 2003 Jetta, base GL, 4 cylinder engine, . its been in 1 accident in 2005 (not our fault) that has been reported to insurance, and it was pretty nasty, windows broken, frame smashed in, everything... but its all been fixed by the other person who caused the accident. its got no sunroof, interior is not leather... actuall ythe inside DEFINITELY needs to be cleaned out because theres a few stains on the fabric even though its black >_<. original price was around $18 or 19k, including tax and everything payment ended up being around $21k. the car has never broken down even once, although its tires have blown out on me before only 1 month after purchase (and they say michelson is supposed to be the best tires, whateverrrrr). id say theres around 75,000 miles on the VW right now, by the time i sell it, it may be up to $80,000.

so, what do you think i can get for it? when i sell it, what do you think is a reasonable price that i can demand for it?

my license is actually not suspended anymore, but my probationary period is over in june (it lasts for 3 years once suspension occurs)

but what happened was, sometime in 2004 (edit: im sorry, i did the math, and it turns out it was 2003, cause it was right after i turned 18), i drank about 18oz of vodka and did some heroin and hydrocodone and drove sometime around noon. i dont even remember driving OR even doing the hydrocodone at the end, i was completely blacked out from the beginning. but they found me asleep on the freeway, the CHP that is, later in the evening when rush hour traffic was peaking, and i blew a BAC of .215. yes, i pulled a nicole richie, but seriously, i was 18 back then. when i DO drive NOW, its nothing at all like the way i used to drive before. im a lot more responsible now, not just on the road but in pretty much every other way possible.

i know for sure that if i got my dream vette i DEFINITELY wouldnt drive like that. i would be one of those psychoes that would be completely obsessed about even the tiniest scratch on their car.

it gets better. i was sooooooo shitfaced, that when the police officers were surrounding me tapping my glass window trying to wake me up, that when i woke up, i thought they were robbers. so i rolled down my window, screamed "JUST TAKE EVERYTHING" and chucked my wallet out the window into the middle of traffic. ROFL!

then this CHP officer shined a flashlight in my face and was like "maam have you been drinking tonight" and even after all that i still said no. LMFAO

dude, and i woke up in fucking san bernardino too! what the fuck is that shit!!! that like 2 hours away from my destination OR my starting point. it was at that exact moment that i decided to get a different boyfriend in all the neighboring counties that i live in. that way, if anything were to go awry in a county nearby, i could call for help and get out of trouble easier.

and heres the stupidest part: when i got arrested, THEY LEFT ME IN A CELL WITH A GODDAMN PAYPHONE. HELLO, THIS IS A DRUNK DIALERS DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!! And I was California's number 1 drunk dialer, hellllllllll yea reprezent! LOL j/k fuck wiggers they can die. anyways, so i think i 1800-collected like everybody in the book. well, everybody whose number i could remember anyway. and then i pressed some wrong numbers and talked to people some of whom i didnt know, although most of them hung up on me. oh yeah, and then i called my b/f at the time to tell him i cheated on him with 2 dudes in a home-made porno. and yes, it really happened. this was before the blackout so i definitely remember it. but that probably wasnt the best time to tell him, now that i look back on it. LOL. but he didnt have a car or money to bail me out anyways, so fuck his scumbag ass. i was the one always paying dinner and EVERYTHING for him whenever we went out. god, he was such a waste of time.

and then i made some friends with some mexican tweakers while i was in there, and since i couldnt convince them to try and break out of jail with me, we ended up singing a jingle that goes something like "Japoneciiiiiiiiita, free la cochiiiiiiinaaaaaaaa." although i was singing more by myself and they were laughing their asses off at my drunk retarded ass.

my lawyer gave me a copy of the police report and the shit the officers wrote in there is a riot. they talked/wrote so much shit about me LOL. i let everybody who comes into my house read that thing for a good laugh.

hpi: you must have been off by a 0. either that, or the currency was not in dollars. theres no way a 70s vette would go over 30k unless it belonged to somebody famous.

you must not know much about cars, if it's a taken care of car,
low miles, it can exceed $50k regardless of whom it belonged to

i can take any piece of shit car and triple its value. i can also buy an-about-to-crumble ghetto ass house for $50,000 and re-furnish the entire thing with nice marble bathroom floors, french sliding doors for the closet and backyard, two grand entrance wooden doors with sturdy steel frame and gold plates, a staircase that swirls down in the shape of the patterns of a seashell, paint the interior walls with a glorious classic boutiqe style, interior design it so that it looks like a rich motherfuckers house cause its in such peak condition. i can install that house with such nice things, yet it will cost me barely anything (for what its worth) because im using cheap labor and buying the material for warehouse prices... and then i can go and sell that exact same house for $400,000 when its original cost was $50,000, and all the labor and materials i spent overall to build .

so, just because 70s vettes that are over $50k are around and exist doesnt mean anything... because tecnically, you can invest so much time and money into a piece of crap for so long, that you can exponentially increase its worth. EASILY.

i am talking about what is TYPICAL. TYPICAL price will not exceed 12k, although there are examples just like mentioned above. i will have a much easier time finding a vette within my price range than you finding one that is $100k or above. those prices are usually for specialty cars anyway, you know the ones where they only made 8 of them in the entire world. kind of like the ferrari enzo.

he was talking about the newer editions anyway, and like i said, theyre around $55k give or take $10 grand or so.

http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette/
coupe starting at $47k
convertible starting at $55k
z06 starting at $72k

actually my post above just gave me an idea on ways to make extra cash fast.... i dont have enough money to buy a car or house to furnish it up.... but i could possibly do it with furniture, most definitely. i got mad painting skills, ferreals. it will be very hard to beat Ikea though, i have to admit theyre some goddamn good business and stiff competition :bored: .... or mayyyyyyybe, i can USE their cheap, bland items such as their blank desks, and then do custom paint jobs... actually nah, its still cheaper to just make the shit from scratch at home depot. it would have to be a 2 person job though. fuck im rambling by myself im going to bed goodnight.

cars are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them,
doesnt matter what you drop into it if someone isnt willing to
pay your price it's not worth it's selling price, the only way
a car achieves that sort of value is when it's either 100%
original or it's a concours restoration, some cars can reach
that sort of value but it's gotta be one that doesnt have 40k
models in production for that year

in the case of a 78 vette, it's to your benefit that there are
that many because that can help you find the $6000 one that's in
reasonable shape

absolutely, the car just doesnt have that sort of worth, his one
on the other hand, has incredible worth, the average asking
price is about $250k, it was a production car, part of a
homologation effort by plymouth in order to have a race team,
minimum number for production is usually 500, there were far
more superbirds than 500...
