 Floater in LC?

I have this LC that I made about a week ago with a 2% honey solution. I steamed for 30 mins, but couldn't PC at the time.
There's definitely myc growth in there. But there's also this 0.5 cm whitefuzzy-ball looking thing that is floating in the middle of the water (i shouldn't say float, it's not on the bottom, but its not at the surface of the liquid). I'm pretty sure it's gotten bigger since the first time I saw it (and obviously, it has, since I didn't see it when I inoculated).
I'm assuming this is a contam, but can anyone tell me what it might be? I tried to take pics, but it's too tiny and I couldn't get the shot.

why would you assume that it is a contam?
i would assume mycelium. This is why we always do a test jar. If it is a contam you will know what they look like next time

i dunno man. it doesn't look like any myc i've ever seen in pictures before. it's just a straightup ball that is white/clearish and actually i just noticed it has a tiny brown dot on it in one place. who knows though, maybe it was just some particle that was in there and the myc started growing on it .. i'll know in a week when i come back from vacation

the brown dot makes it sound like a ball of mycelium. use it once, I bet it is fine

Seriously, most people use camera phones.
plus taking a pic of mycelium through glass= a shitty photo.
If the water has not changed clearity it is most likely good.
Of course it will change color a bit since the mycelium will be reflecting light. If it turns milky or bubbly it is probably bad

Hey thanks a lot tahoe. I know what you mean by a lot of the pics are from cameraphones and whatnot  Thanks for those pics, they help a lot.
Yeah I think my LC had some sediment which then made me become paranoid as to whether it was contamination or not.
In any event, it is 4 hours away from me (spring break) so I will not see it again until This saturday. Hopefully, I'll have some good myc growth in it! I'll do a test jar also.

the thing has grown pretty large and it looks very weird.
it's like a dome (mushroom cap) that is translucent and hollowed out and on the inside of the dome is a murky-brown ball. it looks just like a jellyfish without tentacles i swear lol.
it's about 2 weeks into the LC and growth seems to have stopped maybe 1/2 week ago i guess. 2% honey solution btw. steamed for 75 minutes.
i also have 3 other LC's of different strains (one including this strain, cambodian) that look really good without anything like this in them. i have no idea what to think it could be. it has some kind of morphology by the way it is structured. it isn't just bacteria growing randomly in a huge colony, there is some design to how it is growing.

That looks crazy! LOVE IT! What did you start off the LC with, tissue culture? Have you agitated it at all? I don't see a stir bar or any other object in the jar that would clue me in on a method for daily agitation.

yes i've been swirling the contents manually about once/day. this thing started as a tiny little dot and has grown to this size / shape. it looks so weird i really wish i could get a better picture but it's just too hard to. imagine a regular bowl with a lump of ice cream in the middle, that's how it looks (the shape anyway).

the key word is honey. Honey is not for lc's its for bears.
