How could we know that everyone sees colors the same? I might see something as "red", when really it's blue, but i've been brought up believing that its red, because thats what I was taught by my parents... I used to know the name for it but I since forgot and wanted to incorporate in a paper I'm writing 5 's for anyone who helps me out

color is different EVERYTIME you see color, even when two people see the same color its different. light waves always get bounced off other things and it's all so inconsistent. that being said... there is no such thing as color without and observer and every observers eye differs a bit so a slight different color might be perceived, but if everyone has pretty normal biological eyes, everyone should see something AROUND the color of red when the light waves present themselves.
then you come to a case of people with "abnormal" eyes (color blind), who perceive the colors differently.
anyway that might or might not at all help, just my rant on color

ok I think you may have got the wrong impression color was just an example I used to help explain the thing I dont know the name of it applies for other things as well I believe but enjoyed your thoughts nonetheless

I remember reading that post too... thought it was very interesting. Tried talking to a few of my friends about the theory... if I recall, they thought I was nuts!

I was brought up thinking my blue was everyone else's blue until I went to an opthamologist and found out my perceptions of colors were waay fucking off.
