Did my first G2G 5 days ago, awesome!

Used half a quart jar of WBS and turned it into 5 new quarts that are all just about 100 percent colonized already!

I thought for sure it was going to be a huge mess and everything would be contaminated since I did not use that much of a sterile technique.

Just took a really crappy stillair/glove box with holes cut in it but no other features, just holes to stick my hands in and sprayed some oust in there, put on gloves with alcohol and wiped the outside of the jars down with alcohol.

All 5 jars are in great shape! Just wanted to share because I am proud of how far I am coming in this hobby.

Awesome! Be sure to only transfer that batch 2 or 3 more times before you start with new mycelium again. I learned that part the hard way.

If you continually do transfers the myc will age and the genetics will get jacked up, reducing the quality of your harvests. Senescence.

The mycelium eventually gets too weak to fruit. You end up with a fruiting chamber full of bunk casings.

yeah i remember the first time i got it to work... i think i did a 1 to 7. And it was done in 8 days. ofcourse i let it sit for five more. G2G is one of the greatest things about this hobby. Cause if you have 1 jar you can get ten or more in a little over a week.

I am starting to see this, its a good thing these guys gave me the heads up not to keep doing it over and over or I would have screwed myself.

Yea it is pretty sweet, but I know I wouldnt be anywhere without all the good information archived on this site. Well I would be somewhere but it would be standing around with a bunch of jars and materials wondering why nothing is happening!:grin:
