Up-Down Fantasy Stock Market
Well, not fantasy, it's the real thing, but fake money. I just started an account because I did this once in high school and thought it was pretty fun. It wouldn't hurt to have a little competition from within the shroomery so I can have something to compare myself to.
I'm by no means an expert, but here's what I came up with for a starting portfolio:
MO (Altria Group)
OXY (Occidental Petroleum CP)
HSC (Harsco Corp)
HIT (Hitachi LTD)
DNA (Genentech)
CAJ (Cannon Inc ADR)
The shares are split about evenly (except for HIT and CAJ, which have ~5-10% instead of ~20%)
