Anyone who uses a PC, please be careful.
    #8143512 - 03/13/08 08:59 PM (16 years, 10 months ago)

And don't drink while you're cooking!!! I just now got off the phone with the wife of a good friend of mine, my buddy just got really, really, fucked up burnt by whatever he did wrong with his PC, she said the skin was falling off his arm one of his hands is just really messed up bad and his whole chest is scalded. Damn!!! I just talked to the dude a couple hours ago, we were both doing the same thing, PCing grain. I have no idea if he fucked up or the PC fucked up, but he was sounding pretty drunk on the phone. FUCK?!?! I don't know. Hey, everyone, just be careful. And don't be drinking while you are using a PC, a little mistake can cause a disaster with these things. I'll find out what actually happened and let y'all know.

i dont understand how stuff like that happens with a PC, are people dumb enough to open it or something while the pressure is up? most PCs that I've seen have over pressure valves so I dont see how they can blow up, im willing to bet it was user error

sucks for him man, that will leave a mark

Hope your friend is okay. Sorry to hear about it. That's brutal and mistakes happen. People get too overzealous and act on impulse.

Hope hes okay.

Listen jerk offs, didn't need to read the sarcasm. My bad for giving any details anyway, I just thought y'all would be cool. This guy ain't dumb trash either, he's got a professional career a wife and two kids. He just messes around with cult. as a hobby just like me. He's good people, something bad happened. So keep your lame ass shut if you're just looking to be sarcastic.

That sucks mate, I for one am interested in hearing how it happened. I don't need to get myself hurt and I sure as hell don't want to get someone else hurt because of something I am doing.

No one likes to hear of a nasty accident. Hope he'll get well soon. My best wishes go out to him.

Hopefully someone who reads this will be just that bit more careful and avoid an accident!

My mom bought a PC and didnt clamp the handles down all the way and while she was walking by it exploded, sounded like a shotgun, she was covered from head to toe with 3rd degree burns and was going into shock by the time we got her to the hospital, ever since she hasnt used a PC and frowns upon my use of one to the point where she makes me use it in the garage.

Have you greased your overpressure ring lately? How about even looked at it? Did you know that AA recommends that you replace the steam release plug yearly? Don't be so quick to blame the operator entirely, without considering the equipment.

That being said, know what you're doing. Getting wasted with a PC on the stove is a pretty bad idea. Good Luck to your friend Resptodd. That sucks in a bad way.

By the way, the lid handle on my AA broke before it's first use. That's a chintsy piece on an otherwise excellent tool. If it closes fine, and goes under pressure without obvious leaking, you should be good to go. Make sure you tighten it down in a star-like pattern.. like you would a tire.. and to use some vasoline on the lid to get a better seal.

~Great information, especially for those who don't have their PC book or who are too lazy to read. Perhaps this could be added to the AA PC section on the Shroomery PC page...~Pixie~
