petri dish contamination?

I have a very limited number of petri dishes to work with and one of them, with good mycelial growth of shiitake, is contaminated with bacteria. I was wondering if I flooded the dish with dilute peroxide and then thoroughly drained it if this might salvage the clone. I could then move to a peroxidated LC to further eliminate the bacteria. What do you think? Trout

Well things don't always look as they are and things can be misread and mistaken for what they realy are so don't read too much into what I say since I might be mistaken myself. And remember I rarely ever give a definate answer.

No. You cut a tiny piece of the healthy mycelium on the opposite side from the bacteria, and transfer that to a new petri dish. RR

Roger thanks for the reply. I totally trust your advice but unfortunately I do not have any more dishes to use at this time. They were made by a friend and I cant get any more for a while. I was hoping that I could do something to save this clone but maybe I will have to wait until more dishes are available. My PC is in storage and cannot be accessed right now or I would make more myself. If you have any other suggestion I would greatly appreciate it. Trout

Refrigerate the dish until ready to work with it or the bacteria will completely take over. RR
