About a Month Into Grow - Progress?
    #8139675 - 03/12/08 10:55 PM (16 years, 10 months ago)

I inoculated 3 jars about a little over a month ago. Didnt see any signs of growth. Left them in a dark rubbermaid in my closet at a temperature of about 72. Forgot about them, and when I peeked in tonight, I found this. I see a little condensation on the side, is this ok? I used the PF Tek, and used B+ spores.
Thanks!

~Nice Job!  Keep an eye out for contams....I think A little condensation on the sides is alright; hopefully some other members will pipe in as well.  Good luck! Let us know how it goes.  :sun: ~Pixie~

It looks to me like your substrate is a little too wet, and that's probably why they're taking so long to colonize. You'll learn to get the moisture content down pretty quickly as you make new batches of substrate. Not much you can do now except wait and hope they keep going.

72 is just barely on the low end of the temps, a few degrees higher may be better, but if you can't make it happen, don't worry.

That condensation is pretty normal, too, and it's probably made worse by the overly wet substrate. Give them time, if they don't start growing mold just let them do their thing. It'll pay off in the long run.

It's normal to have condensation on the side. Excess water will however slow down colonization; that's pretty slow for a month of colonization.

Anyway it looks pretty rhizomorphic so the mycelium itself is looking pretty good.

the moisture is fine .take off the foil lid and keep in a ventilated room. co2 is your main threat here.
