why aren't my invitro's pinning again after first flush?

Hey guys. I grew a bunch of invitros. After the first flush I dunked, but its been 3 weeks and there is no growth on any of them (15). There is no visible mold. I opened a cake just now and it still smells fresh and seems damp.
I dont know which strain I am using as I got it from a friend (it is p. cubensis though, I just forgot the name). It took a really long time for the cakes to begin pinning after they had fully colonized the jars (maybe 3 weeks), I probably should have cold shocked them, but whatever.
Do you guys think that cold shocking them at this point will cause them to resume pinning? I had the same problem with these cakes in my PF tek (they took a long time to beggin pinning again after the first flush).
My dunks have been 18-24 hours and they were not in the fridge (I had to be stealthy, but I no longer have that issue and all subsequent dunks will be done in the fridge).
The cakes did have a semi-sweet smell after dunking, but so did the ones that resumed growing in my PF.
all feedback is much appreciated, thanks a lot.

I think the temperature is probably fine. Try cold shocking them maybe for 24 hours and seeing if that helps at all.

Cubensis doesn't need a cold shock to fruit. Invitros actually do pretty well if you just pour a sterile water in there 1/4 the way up. I have done this many times. Usually the culture will soak it up before it fruits and literally spit what it doesn't use back out when it's done. I've done this with hundreds of jars in the past. Works especially well with invitro coir cultures.

The cakes may not have enough fresh air exchange to induce pinning. Try a terrarium.

They often don't fruit invitro a second time. I'd dunk again and place in a terrarium, or bury outside in manure if temperatures are suitable. RR

Cold shocking is BS!!!
How long has it been after the last dunk? They probably just need some more time.
most of my invitro coir bags took 7-10 days to start pinning again.

|If you have some kind of filter on the jars or bags just put a fan in the room to cause turbulence. That should be enough to get things going with cubes. They can tolerate quite a bit of co2 and still fruit.

I don't agree with this! I have a good 7 years under my belt doing this with cubes. As long as you have some kind of filter for air exchange you can get from 5 to 8 flushes in a quart jar off coir, popcorn, coir /bran or rye berries ect. Of couse each flush will be smaller as time goes by. Like I said make sure you have some turbulence in the room.

my cakes are 50/50 brown rice/verm.
I have no filter (?).
the only thing for air exchange is the 4 holes I used to inoc.
the first time I ever grew we got 4-5 flushes out of every cake invitro. maybe it's harder with this strain?
thanks for all the responses.
