Questions on Mycelium growth etc.

I inoculated 7 1/2 pint PF Tek style jars early on 09/03/08 with P. Cubensis-Golden Teacher spores.
I have had to keep them at a temperature of around 24C as I have broken my thermometer and dont want to accidental cook my jars.
I forgot to shake the syringe(well it was moved about and such, but not vigorously shaken) before inoculating the first 5 jars, but shook it for the last 2.
It has been nearly 4 full days since I inoculated the jars and still have seen NO signs of spore germination(I know it can take 2-5 days, but Im getting worried) or contamination.
Do you think my jars will germinate even though the temperature is low and the spores were not shaken?
Also, I have put the second layer of foil back on again after inoculation, I have read it should be removed for C02 exchange, is this only after germination or is it directly after inoculation?
Thanks a lot in advance, T.K.

It can take up to 2 weeks before visual germination.
Shaking the syringe is very beneficial to mycelial growth, seeing as you need two spores to combine into one life form, if they are too spaced out.. it can take a loooong time.
Oh and you should remove the foil if you're using a dry vermiculite barrier, for gas exchange.

Nah, it's not necessary!
There's a enough air getting in there with the foil on and it benefits to the prevention of contams!
It's only advised to remove foil, when you use lids.
Anyway, don't be too impatient in this hobby. Four days of waiting isn't a long time.
Shaking a syringe before using it is wise, but normally there should be enough spores (of which you see only a small part), so that visible germination shouldn't be too far ahead. Depending on the age of the print, it take quiet a time for them to germinate.
And room temp is just fine for the process. I've never done any heating on incubation and never had any problems with it...

Ah, ok cheers. I was under the impression that 5 days was the meximum time taken for gemination.
Thanks a lot.
