will this work?

Ok. My terrirum consists of a clear plastic bin with an air pump that bubbles through a 2 liter soda bottle. I put about 1.5 inches of perlite on the bottom and I place the cakes directly on the perlite. I run a lava lamp light on top of it for about 6 hours a day. temps stay around 73-77 and humidity is unknown. However I see water condensation on the inside walls. Hows this sound to you guys?

PS the clear plastic bin has hindged flaps that interlock as a cover.

Caution on setting cake directly on perlite. It will work but eventually the perlite wiks the water to the cake until soggy I always prepare one of my jar lids with moistened vermiculite inside. Then set the cakes in the lid and place on perlite like that. Perlite maintains humidity then whithout waterlogging cakes. Petri dishes or anything along those lines will do the same. Hope this helps you!

Your humidity and lighting sounds fine. But don't place your cakes directly on the perlite, they will soak up too much water, plus I had several cakes get contaminated when I had them straight on the perlite, probably from soaking up bacteria in the water.
