A word about microwaving (All should heed)
    #813144 - 08/12/02 03:41 PM (14 years, 6 months ago)

At the moment I cannot find the document I read from a couple of days ago but it has been proved that the basic plastic wraps (and likely most tupperware) contains carcinogens that seep into the food/substrate/whatever you are cooking in alarmingly high concentrations.

A few people will already know this of course but I would suggest you all avoid microwaving with plastics. Ceramics, glass.. they are fine.

Just a friendly headup.

This is old news. Although there may be some validity to it, nobody I know of is gonna stop using plastic wrap and Tupperware in the microwave.

What's this got to do with cultivation anyway? (rhetorical question, don't bother answering)

it's not true the agriculture and biochemical departments here at UC Davis have also heard the rumors and they said that there is no truth to it.

****What's this got to do with cultivation anyway?****

think about that one. don't be such a fucking dick.

his last words were "a friendly headsup". "this is old news".....maybe to you, but not everyone else.

why did you even ask what this has to do with cultivation?

Because it doesn't belong in this forum.

Well i think he posted it here knowing a lot of us use the microwave to sterilize substrate. now i think some people might like to know what may leak into there substrate.

***it has been proved that the basic plastic wraps (and likely most tupperware) contains carcinogens that seep into the food/substrate/whatever you are cooking in alarmingly high concentrations.***

carcinogens seeping into my substrates if i microwave doesn't have any thing to do with cultivation? toxic shit, seeping into you brf or whatever you microwave doesn't have anything to do with cultivation? you don't think an alarmingly high concentration of carcinogens can affect the sensitive organism? true, the carcinogens may have NO affect on the organism and alot of people probably won't stop using their plastics in the microwave. there is a connection, and the guy was being nice enough to spread something he read. you don't have to be a dick.

For Christ's sake!! ? EVERYTHING causes cancer!!

Will this news stop anyone from putting plastic wrap over their cold chinese food?

I doubt it.
