Will cobweb fully colonize a jar?
    #8110390 - 03/06/08 10:27 AM (16 years, 10 months ago)

So I found a jar today that I totally forgot about. It was psilo cyanescen on BRF. There was definatly cobweb mold on the top, and the rest of the jar was nearly fully colonized.

I did alot of searching but couldn't find the answer to this question. Will cobweb mold fully colonize a jar? Or is it just a 'topical' thing?

One note, the jar smelled like mycelium, not bad smelling at all...

hmm, cobweb is normally a surface mold I think.

Grows on casings, top of substrate.

3% peroxide kills it on contact.

I don't believe it can fully colonize a jar.

cobweb will do more than fully colonize a jar, it will turn everything inside it a dark black before turning an entire jar of rye into a blackish liquid
