when to move casings to fruiting chamber
    #8130845 - 03/11/08 07:49 AM (16 years, 10 months ago)

I just recently prepared some casings, covered them, and put them in the dark for about 2-3 days now, i can see some spots of mycelium coming through the top but not a whole lot, about what percentage of mycelium do you want to see on top before you put them in the fruiting chamber? I have grown off of cakes before but this is my first time with casings and would it be different with certain species? I have some Golden Teacher casings and some Panaeolus Cyanescens (goliaths) any help would be appreciated

when u start seeing those patches of myc poking threw your going to want to take some more or your casing material and cover them spots up evenly, don't pack it down just cover them up evenly so u will get a more even pinset. after u patch those spots up cover the casing container back up n put it in the dark for a couple more days till the myc is pokeing threw everywhere.
