Hey here's my setup.. Large clear rubber made container. Perlite mixed with little fish stones around 70%perlite, reason, I thought that mixing these two would let more air circulate through the perlite making the humdity stronger. Under the Perlite and fish stones is about 3 feet of fish air line with the end closed and holes punched all through. Making 3 feet breathable. With a fish air pump at the end. I also have a fish heater in the perlite mix. This setup stays in high humidity and around 75 heat. I have 3 completely colonized 1 pint jars that I have put in (gulf coast) about a week and a half ago. My cakes are growing fuzz like it's cool but no pinheads, more fuzz then I've seen in any of yalls pics. My question is could the humidity be to high. Thanks..

When the cakes/casing starts pinning lower the humidity.

Well to initiate pinning on cakes you need to up your humidity to about 95% ad then when you see fruit forming drop it to 85% or so.

I've always found that cakes prefer being closer to 100%.

Ok so I guess it can't be to high. Because it's at a 100%. This setup seems to work well. Can't make any pic's, sorry.
