Spraying woodchip reserve next to house with hose?

Hey,
So, theres a prolly a hundred square meters or so... ok prolly more like 50, but you know a little size reserve outside my house that is part of a walkway sort of thing. Anyway a few months ago the council came in and covered the whole place with woodchip. Previously parts of it was covered in long grass crap and was generally pretty dark sort of dirt stuff. Well anyway theres a stream that runs through it and theyve covered the whole place in woodchip and litte shrubs and bushes and stuff. It is for the most part clear visible woodhip, with the odd tree or bush here and there, ever few meters or so i guess.
Now i went to have a look(btw im in NZ so its just coming into fall now) at the bark just now and there were a few mushrooms in there, some looked promising, im gonna grab a couple and do a spore print. Thing is, they were in localised areas.. theres 2 probably.. 5 square meter patches that are a bit wetter/moister, and thats where they were growing, alot of the other ground was pretty much dry as ... dirt.
Its probably because we havnt had much rainfall lately, and i was thinking, do you think if i sprayed it all with a hose once or twice a day thered be more mushrooms? Its not massive little place.. i can spray it all pretty good in 5 minutes or less(or atleast my side which is 2thirds and where the mushies already are).
What ya think? Or should i just leave it and hosing wont make dif?

Maybe you should first be sure, weather the mushrooms you found were actives or not. you probably know that you should take that particular question to the mushroom hunting thread. However, be sure to post some pics and give a detailed description.
I'd gladly tell if you did found something usable, thou I'd need the above mentioned pics for it.
Generally, watering is never a wrong idea as long as the water can rinse properly from the substrate and since it's outside, this isn't a thing to worry about. So, yes, water it, as soon as you know what mushrooms it is!

Not quiet!
Sure, blue bruising is ONE incubator on identifying actives, but there's a whole bunch of boletes that bruise blue as well and that ain't active!

hose watering is fine for mushrooms.
-------------------- Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.
