newbie question

i am a first time grower using the pf tek.
i used 1/2 cup verm 1/4 cup brf and 60cc's of water per jar
i steamed them for an hour, waited 2 days and then inoculated them
one week later i saw mycellium growth on all 4 spots of inoculation in 1 jar and saw in 2 other jars i only saw one point of growth, 2 other jars i saw nothing
3 weeks later the 1 jar is 100% colonized, 2 jars the mycelium is still only growing at one spot, the other 2 jars still had nothing.

since nothing was growing on the 2 jars i took the lids off to see what was going on. There were no contams but the substrate was hard as hell and really compact. So my question is why was the substrate so compact for?

You probably packed it to tight in the jars....

How did you sterilize the jars.? you may have over done it. also did you put them on a towel or somethign so they were not directly on the heat source?

It just looks compact and shit. You may have contaminated it when you looked inside. You should have shaken your syringe before inoc. if you haven't. Cake or case the ones that are 100 percent colonized and wait for the others. Tell us what happens.
