Are you manually de-pressurizing the pressure cooker immediately after cooking? That may be it.

~Do you have a rack on the bottom of your PC? You can't let the jars sit directly on the bottom. If you don't have a rack you need to either make one or just lay down a small towel in their. ~Pixie~

you should also keep them off the sides, if they heat or cool to unevenly they will crack.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

hey florida. I think we got some shitty ball jars in recent Florida shipments. I had three break recently. And I never break jars in the cooker.

Towels can burn if you forget about them.
Get a rack or use a Corelle plate. letting them cool slowly in the PC will help (overnight is best). and don't just have the heat cranked up all the way while you cook. after the steam starts rocking the weight turn down the heat so it just barely moves.
Check your jars before you fill them for chips or cracks that may spread in the PC, old or used jars are best avoided.
Are your lids loose or vented? a tight lid will create great pressure, most likely a BOOM! this can work in reverse too. as they cool they create a vacuum and are under great pressure, an unvented lid that is loose will seal itself to the jar as it cools.
For my liquid culture jars I use silicone injection ports on my lids and stick a needle in it with cotton stuffed into it to provide ventilation in the PC, this also filters the air drawn in as it cools.
And one last thing, before you put the weight on let the steam blow out for a few minutes before you put it on, this will help heat up the jars and PC more evenly.

good luck!
