A dehydrator is practical for drying shrooms. Even with it set to 155 degrees there is no noticeable difference in potency vs fan drying. The only difference is that they get cracker dry fast.

I just lay them out on clean news print and run a fan across them, after a couple days I roll them over
I wouldnt know why someone would go through all the work of just threading a needle much less hanging mushroom.

I just set mine in a cardboard box with a small fan and they get cracker dry in 36-48.
If I want them sooner, I eat em fresh

It can be better to get them dry faster if you have a lot to dry. But there is no difference in the end product. If you're not in a hurry or you don't have a lot to dry then you don't need the dehydrator. To me it's a compact and simple way to get a lot of dry ounces in one day. Although now that I have it I won't ever fan dry even if I only have a few mushrooms to throw in.

yes it is better. It is sort of like seering a steak to hold in all the flavor and juices. When you dry the mushrooms it locks in all the good stuff because the active stuff can evaporate.

Don't get me wrong tahoe, I've read lots of your posts and respect your knowledge, but the actives evaporate?
I've seen RR post saying that there isn't even any science to back up the whole psilocin oxidation thing causing the blue bruising.

This bs is so good that people will actually believe it. I am going to run with it. At least it will get people to use dehydrators to dry mushrooms.

I like hang drying, as I said I have the time and space. I not saying it's a better method in any way, it's just what I do.-----------------------Now, Tahoe, when I first came to this site, I can honestly say, you are one of the few that I looked to as their answers being gospel, and you have always been there with an answer also. So why now are you getting a hair up your ass, especially when this site seems to have soooooo many noobs around?

Exactly.
I just wanna know why tahoe is being sarcastic over the internet, it can be very hard to tell when this is the case, maybe use the Smileys to help point out the sarcasm.
Seriously, it could lead to the spread of really bad info among the n00bs
