favorite casing method

I decided that I did too much improvising and didn't have enough patience on my last attempt at growing. I started another six jars last night. I'm using the "creeper" strain. I was hoping someone would suggest the best casing method to try. I decided to case rather than straight PF tek method. Im hoping for good yields as well as low contams. I have read everything in the Grow/Find section here at the shroomery. Im just asking for everyone's favorite method (provide link if possible and any pointers for a first timer). Thank you so much.
by the way, I have never been involved with a more helpful and friendly online community. thanks for making me feel welcome!!!

For your first casing you should ONLY do a verm casing, try this tek!

I didnt like like the straight verm casing at all my first time. Didnt have success untill I used coco coir. With the verm casing, I couldnt tell if the casing was dry or not and it all dried out and got ruined. With the coco coir, when the casing starts to dry it will turn back to a lighter brown color so you know that its time to mist when it does that. Just mix some verm and coco along with some oyster shell and you should be fine. Just watch the coir closely though. It tends to dry out quick but not as quick with verm mixed in. Why not just try both since you got 6 jars. 3 for each casing.

When I did my first casing, I simply used a moist layer of vermeculite on the bottom then my colonized crumbled cakes, and used a mixture of potting soil in the small bags from Wal-Mart, and a little peat. I have used this method without paturization for about 4 monthes now and have never had any problems. I think this would be nice if you are casing for your first time. If you would like to see the results of the using this mixture I have a post in the picture forum of a small flush of B+. Take it easy man!

Never did like all verm casings, at first they would always contam(my very first casings), then when I got around that problem they didn't fruit to my expectations. But using Jiffy Mix (50/50 peat/verm with a dash of lime for pH) I've never wanted to go anywhere else. The only mods I've made is adding crushed oyster shells to the mix, seems to help pinning.

Did you pasteurize your coir, or just use as-is?
