Will my Heat Bomb Work?

I will be having many more questions, as I find that this socractic way of learning to be effective for me. I have read a lot, but I still with my first try I have questions.
Simply, I went out and bought a small aquarium heater. I mis read the 75watts and at the store bought 7.5 watts. I figure it will be okay for it is designed to heat a 2-5gallon fish tank. However, after searching I have found at least 50 watts used, and even one post that says

....PS I used the 50watt heater from walmart, make sure not to buy the one that is the cheapest, it is only 7.5 watts
(Source)
I plan on throwing them into a small 10 gallon tub with 12 WBS pt jars.
So my question is 1.) Will 7.5 watts be effective, I'm using a "new" half-liter poland spring bottle made with less plastic. It hopes that the thinner wall with allow the heat to transfer easier.
2.) do these things normally come with a thermostat? It says not to exceed 82 degrees, and that is approximately what I want. My place is about 72 degrees and I do not intend to turn up the heat much more. I am about 2 hours into the silicon drying and plan to set this up tomorrow afternoon. But I am going to be leaving then tomorrow night to return tuesday night. Will it get that hot? will it be safe to leave?

from what i've read, incubating jars above room temperature is not necessary. find a dark closet/cabinet/cupboard and pack them in tight. they'll generate some heat themselves.

7.5W will sadly do about nothing.
Anything under 50 is indeed not a wise idea to use for our purposes.
Although I'm quiet sure your purchase was futile, you should give it a try. 72 degrees ain't too bad for the inoculation process. It takes a little longer for the jars to colonize but on the pro hand you have less risk of contaminations

yeah, i've read similar items, but my place can suffer considerable dips in temperatures. So I want something to maintain the heat.

just try it....that bottle holds a very small amount of water... a 7.5 watt heater built to heat a 2-5 gallon tank can hold its own with a half liter By the way the heaters are made so they automatically turn off at the temp. you set so you dont have to worry about it 'overheating'

See thats what I thought, but this one doesn't. It says on the box * Always use heater with an aquarium thermometer CAUTION: If the water temperature exceeds 28C/82F, unplug the heater.

hmmm... Thats weird Maybe because its a cheapy but my guess is that it will turn off.The company that makes that heater can not risk houses burning down and potential lawsuits. Try it out right now in the bottle you want to use and see if it turns off

well it is already a few hours into the silcon drying. If I would've noticed the 7.5 and not 75 watt difference before I started i would've taken it back. Simply I want to wait until it drys to mess around with it.
I've just ran into a new dumb problem. I was about to knock up some jars and the spore syringe I had didn't have the needle attached and I sat there puzzled for five mins trying to figure it out. I gave up at the time, but I think I got it now. I am throwing a few more jars in the PC so I am gonna wait on that for a few mins.
Its funny, I've been reading off and on since before I even joined the shroomery and i've been reading A LOT lately and I got to do this and I got a question every step of the way. Good thing I am not expecting anything out of this first run.
Oh, If I don't finish a syringe off can I reuse the needle assuming I sterlize it in fire and swap it with Alcohol?

Well i've seen people use syringes 1+ year later that were stored in a hot shed. After all, spores are one of the most resilient things on earth.
As far ass if I can reuse the syringe if I don't finish it I am talking specifically about the needle. I am going to reuse it tomorrow....Lets hope so.

Oh yeh man same goes for the needle.. As long as you sterilize it.(flame) But the only risk you have of contams is if you pulled back on the syringe which would suck in potentially bad air and contaminate your syringe...
So what tek are you doing??

I have a long thread up explaining what I plan on doing, but no one commented =\ so when I run into questions I've been putting them up as new threads.
I have at this moment 8 jars of WBS inoculated. 5 with Brazilian and 3 with South American. I have 4 pt jars cooling and 1 qt jar cooling and tomorrow morning/afternoon I will be knocking them up between Brazilian and South American.
I then found some Stack n'view's at a local ACE for monotubs. Probably two. Where I plan to use Coco Coir/Coffee (~80/20) as a bulk substrate. Casing with 50/50+. However, I've only found the stuff for 50/50. But I have some time too keep looking. I'll go back and update my old thread with some pictures when things start happening.
