I'm just ordering agar dishes and I think I'll bury the cultures I don't want to keep in places and see if anything sprouts. If it's not the sample you want, than it's just not, so make the best of it.

yea but culture plates can just sit in your fridge until your ready to use them right?
I think you got my drift anyway, but I'm just making sure your not just throwing em out for no reason.

Are you saying storing them in the fridge longterm will cause contaminants? As I understand it when you release them in the wild contams is not such an issue. Though agar would confuse my knowledge on the subject since I've only heard this about cakes and sub jars mostly.
But if this is true, for my future knowledge and if you know. How long do they last on average in the fridge without contamination?

im saying that there is no food in my fridge so if i throw all those petris in there it wont be empty
btw when i pour my plates and i dont use them right away i seal them in parafilm and put into a ziplock and place in the fridge untill needed, im not sure how long they last
