one way to determinated or calculate age in mushrooms in to measure the extention of the micelial network and specially the ones tha grow in circle , if you measure every year grow you can figure out the center, where it beging to grow and fron then , calculate the age back in time , some study say some miceliun where find to have kilometer of extencions , another posibility is carbon14 , aparently i have not check the miceliun of armillarea can become one all the miceliun can covert vast extencions , and they are big spore producen you can see cloud of spores in a day with no wind or slow wind ,is iterest to notice some scientific measure intelligence by the network connection on the brain, there is no doub for me that mushrooms are superior beings , so intelligence, and their connection can over excced our brains connections,so if you pick a mushroom from one side of the forest change are the other mushrooms and trees are aware of that in fact the fairy tales of that you enter a woods and all plant are alive and look at you is not that unreal at all, that one f the reasom i don't like to kick mushrooms , the felling you transmit to the other beins is no good, and their are aware of your presence, there is a lot of probe about the subtle comunication between plants and humand , i bet this comunication with mushrooms are superior , no wonder why their appear so much in our dreams , and they choose some people to help then more than others.sometimes i think about the last ages where enormous trees rule the earth , imaging the type of mushrooms from those ages, all the wood is conected by mushrooms and by trees and by the still unknow or not well undestood but not imposible connection we all have, in few year mushrooms can be the most intelligent beins of the planet, what is intelligence , are we ?
it is said that the space that surround us is not empty and we all are connected, we are all one , what you do to other do to you , the age of mushroooms, is increible subject for me open a hole field of posibilities unexplore yet we humand only have live in earth few second if you play a movie of all the history of earth in a 24 hours and by contrary mushrooms have rule the earth for ages, so we believe all this is giving to us , but we dont undestand we are just another new guees around, the earth must love some humand since it only will tike few second to destroy us, but instead the earth give a lot to us , i guees is because understand , there is lot of potencial in humand to explore, that mushrooms are so old tell us they now more from the earth , they can predict weather, can restore habitad , help to create ad maintain balance , there is no wonder active chemical in mushrooms are more effective in humand , is like they need to use all resourses, to help the especie with more problems , deer seem to love and do their job real fine, but we have a little trouble to undestand the mushrooms, i guees is because we are so new and little yet ,if all the earth where destroy and all life mushrooms could still find a way to survive even in the new earth ,and maybe out of space, that pretty far more intelligence that we have,
i have seem micelium of maybe 50 meter wide , at firts i did not knew it was a circle and some part of the circl where not continuun , but than i knew something strike me , like a flash of light , i still not undestood what is was ............
all my best vibrations to you all

i found this
http://www.extremescience.com/biggestlivingthing.htm

In celebration of great trees I would like to remind people of “Pando”, generally considered the largest living organism in the world. “Pando” is a colony of Aspen trees that are genetically identical and share the same root system. The over mass of the colony weighs in around 6,000 tons and the root system is thought to be the oldest living organism, dating back some 80,000 years.

-The largest fungal colony in the world is found in the Malheur National Forest in the Blue Mountains of eastern Oregon. The colony of Honey Mushroom or Shoestring Rot spans 2,200 acres, is 2,400 years old and weighs over 600 tons.

-The oldest living tree (at 4,862 year old at the time of its destruction), a bristlecone pine in Nevada, was simulatiously discovered and chopped down by a geology student collecting tree ring data. OOPS!!!?

-A White Cedar in the Great Lakes region of Canada, has only grown to about 4 inches tall in 155 years.

-Welwitschia mirabilis consists of only two leaves and a stem with roots. Its two leaves continue to grow until they resemble an alien life form. The stem gets thicker rather than higher, although this plant can grow to be almost six feet high and twenty-four feet wide. Its estimated lifespan is 400 to 1500 years. Mirabilis grows in Namibia, and is thought to be a relic of the Jurassic period.

-Old creosote bushes split into two cloned bushes that grow on either sides of the original plant. Eventually this forms a large ring (or, more rarely, a line) of bushes connected by the roots.

There’s a relatively famous example of the ring formation in the Mojave Desert (it’s usually called ‘King Clone’) which is almost 12,000 years old.

-Your house plants recognize your voice and respond to your thoughts. They know when your arriving before you get there, IMAGING MUSHROOMS .

-According to the Guiness Book of World Records, the oldest living tree is Methusaleh-a Bristlecone Pine located between 10,000 and 11,000 ft. in the White Mountains, east of the Sierra Nevada. It is 4,768 years old. It started growing at around the time when the Great Pyramid of Giza was completed (2600 BC)!

WHAT DOES PLANT HAVE TO BE WITH MUSHROOMS EVERYTHING .

ALL MY BEST

Hey cactu I agree with everything you say above, some very interesting facts and spiritual awareness!
I just wanted to add these facts about New Zealand's native tree Agathis australis, belonging to the family Araucariaceae, this family of trees were prolific before the dinosaurs and before the Gondwana super continent broke up!
Tane mahuta, the name given to this tree by the Maori people means Lord of the forest!

This tree stands 169 feet tall, has a 45 foot circumferance and has a volume of 8635 cubic feet!
The trunk rises 59 feet before the first branch.
There was another Kauri tree called Kairaru which was destroyed in the 1880's by fire that was estimated to be over 4000 years old, its volume was estimated to be around 15997 cubic feet, larger than todays greatest redwood and in it's day the largest tree in the world!
inski..
