Doc's WBS Tek clarification*update

I read, and I read, and then when I do of course a question comes up. I'm new at this in case it isn't obvious. Feel free to check my other posts in this cultivation forum. But my question is about the Doc's WBS Tek, I pour what I want into my strainer, but I think my holes are too big as the
millet, or small round white/yellow seeds fall through.

hell, maybe they are supposed to, and after the straining they will float when soaked and I would strain them off. But I find when in doubt asking is best. I might run out to the walmart and buy a bigger strainer though, can't do more than 2qts at once otherwise =\
*updated as new post at end of thread

Nah your strainers holes are too big then, really. None of it should fall out. Millets one of the best parts of bird seed too I think...

I use mesh bag to strain my seed. Using a collander was too messy and I'd rather do the work out in the garage with a water hose.
Someone here also made a bucket with a screen on top for a strainer.
My first try at wbs: I fucked my garbage disposal and it smelled bad for a week.

interesting. I saw the five gallon bucket and screen I think in the montoub tek. Also I dont have yard/garage/hose. Plus I have a shower stall meaning I don't have a good spicket in there to use. Therefore, my sink is it. Hm... could I get a mesh bag at lowes or walmart? I may just got out and buy the 5 gallon bucket and screen, because I was gonna get one for the Coco Coir

yeah you could use a pillow case..
But try to find a large low profile tub, lay down a towel or paper towels, after the pillowcase stops dripping water, spread all that seed into the tray and allow the excess to air dry just a little. You want the seeds hydrated, you dont need seeds with wet exterior.

what i use is a really easy strainer and big in capacity what you want to do is take done the dimension of your sink and then build a simple PVC frame that fits just around the sink then zip tie some window screening on there your done 28 jars at once last week

Thanks, that PVC frame idea sounds nifty. I'll look into that when I have more cash, and a bigger PC. Hell, I'm trying to find an 8qt and get rid of this 6qt, because my qt jars barely fit in it--short on cash.
For now I may either go with the pillow case or just buy the 5 gallon bucket/screen as I could use one later on with the Coco Coir.

I agree. I have about 30-60 bucks to spend on one right now. Wally world is walmart, right. I'll have to ask them about that. I wonder how long it would take. I was planning on knocking up these things this weekend.

So, I made that PVC frame tonight out of 1/2" PVC pipe, and 4 90 degree elbows, the expensive part out of it was buying the screen 6 bucks and scorer to cut the PVC pipe. but, the pipe and elbows came out to be like 2.50 if anyone else is thinking about it.
But cyberthreat, what do you do then to get them back in the pot without making a mess. I am using a small cup but every little piece doesn't come out.
Its soaking right now, but I think the water I left them in was a little too warm, as I noticed about 5% of the white millet in particular has exploded. I am debating redoing it. Its only 3qts, well 3 half qts. I've skimmed a lot of them out, but would the rest of you do?
