I talked to farmer Frank Callahan whose field is just west of Falling Waters St. Rec. Area, Washington County. He thought I was interested in his pecan trees. He says Saturdays(2/12) rain was the first he's seen since October. His fields are DRY and he didn't have any pecans for me either.

I'm afraid it's way too dry and a little too cold in most of Florida this time of year. Come back in mid-summer and you'll have much better luck. (I can point you in the right direction if you're near Gainesville. If you're interested, drop me a line.)

Whaaa? Youre Whereee? I just picked some cubensis ten minutes ago. Only had about a half hour to pick them.. there were lots of cows in the section of field I always pick from (normally they are not around that part), they were staring at me for about fifteen minutes combing their pasture then they all put a big fuss about me takeing their shrooms and stampeded there asses out of there.. this paranoid me a little, thinking that there just might be a farmer around somewhere and wonder what was going on with his cows, so i got outta there. Anyway, the shrooms are growing for Me.. it rained good two days ago, the humidity is nothing right now and it felt like it was ninety degrees in that field. Whooshh!

A big fat ugly one.

:uploads/today3:

Locals around here tell me that shrooms are too hard to find down here and they only grow during certain times of the year,, I just smile at them and say "Reallly???? Huh."

grond, if your really serious about finding this mushroom species, youd be smart to get a hold of Me. I get an incredible rush even time Ive found them! I even passed a few of them up on my way out today I was in such a hurry to get out of there.
