Taking forever to pin =(

Hey guys, My cakes have been fully colonized and exposed to about six hours of light from my room's light for about ten days now. Still no pinning. Should I just keep waiting, or is there something I can do to speed this up a little?

more light.. get a daylight bulb.. check the humidity... more fresh air (misting and fanning 3 or more times a day)

It can take up to three weeks to see pins. Keep on waiting- GL!

I had a casing of 100% colonized rye that took, seemingly, FOREVER to pin. 2 weeks in fact. I understand rye is a little bit different than PF tek, still relatively new to growing myself. But I would wait a bit longer. What's the temperature set at? Also what are you doing for fresh air exchange?

Well, it has been about two weeks.. so should I just birth them all? The temp is just room temp as that's what it says in the pf tek.

Oh, you mean you haven't birthed them yet? No need to wait on invitro pinning before you fruit.

I agree also.. some strains pin for shit invitro.. the myc may need exposure to certain gases to shift it into knotting. this isn't fact or anything, just a thought. I figure thats how the outside of the substrate knows to fruit there... exposure to light and ambient gases. You could take the cake out and put it back in the jar if you are looking to fruit invitro. good luck!
