Ok i have about 3 of thees cacti that are about 3 years old. They are also about 4cm in diameter. Is it worth eating them or should i wait for a few years.
As it easy enough to buy more.

It takes four to six of those biug buttons to be the equivalent of 300 to 500 milligrams of mexcaline sulfate. The higher 500 milligram dosage is equal to an Indian ceremonial dosage. And it is the threshold level fo over dose at 500 milligrams if you are not like Jimi Hendrix.
It takes a wquater ounce of dried peyote buttons which can be from four to 15 buttons equaling a quarter of an ounce.
If you are young and never have eaten peyote thenthree buttons of the large size in my image whould be enough to keep you high for 12 hours.

The indinas sometimes eat up to twenty to thirty buttons during a three day ceremoniy.

By the way it takes at least 7-8 years for the buttons to mature.

You're really best off waiting another 20 years. Anything under 10 years is unlikely to have any effect. 20 years seems to be the minimum age i'd feel confident about. It's also a lot rougher experience than san pedro - around 60 alkaloids compared to san pedros 6. San pedro is the way to go really.

I have tried t. peruvian but i find to buy the stuff is still expensive somthing like ?25 a trip. I have started growing some from seed but this will probably takes ages.
I would like to try some peyote but will probably now have to leave it for a while.
I bet by then i couldnt bring my self to killing them though.

Usually at the indian ceremonies i have been to a big basket is passed around with many dried button slices in it and you are able to take as little or as much as you want.

?25 a trip is still a lot cheaper than peyote tho. Unless you want to grow em for 20 years.

If all goes well I am going to uni in the u.k for a year then i will try and og on a exchange program and go to mexico for a year should be fun and cacti should be easily availble.

tHE CACTUS' ARE MORE COMMON ALONG THE rIO gRANDE IN tEXAS THAN IN mEXICO AND THE PEYOTE SUPPLY IS BEING MORE AND MORE DEPLEATED EACH YEAR.
San Pedro is great if you know how to really rppprepare it. No sickness or queeziness and as mention above less alkaloids.
One cactus grown and cut for twenty years willyield a half a tom of San Pedro.
ANd in America, cactus can be bought in straigt garden shops for abot 15 to 20 dollars a cactus or two.
It is only the rip off prices in Amsterdam which are offensive. I bought 7 dried grams in Amsterdam from a shop for 90 dollars. A gram of the chemical is only about 60 dollars froma pharmace3utical firl.
Anyway, look around before you buy some and find it cheaper.

Peoyote sounds a little scary to me.
Harsher and stronger than mescaline alone because
of the maoi properties of the other alkaloids.Also is
hard to get an exact dosage with cactus.I like to extract
cactus.
I still need to do peyote, ayahusca, smoke dmt before I die.
Then I will be complete.

The mexican police used to be notoriously harsh on kids coming to mexico in search of shrooms.
Peyote is pretty much on it's last legs now, please don't eat anything that came from the wild as you will be contributing to it's extinction. Peyote needs a break. Stick to san pedro.

One - to - twpo pounds of fresh San Pedro are equivlent to 300 to 500 milligrams of mescaline. IT is not haed to get a dosage from the cactus. The weight is proportionally equal each time.
A clinical dosage sis from 200 to 500 milligrams.
WHile peyote has many alkaloids in them they all work together to make the high. IT is suggestion by some chemists that the reson people throw up is becasue the body naturally rejects some of those alkaloids. The indians who use peyote believe it is the evil spitrits leaving the body.
You can do peyote without throwing up by taking it in the form of a stew in an enema. Over 70 of us sis peyote in this manner in a sanctuary in Big Sur called Gorda Ranch back int he middle 1960's when two missionatries brought us 400 buttons of peyote to our campsite on the cliffs of the Naciemeto National Forest 17 m,ile soputh of Limekiln Creek/

if you live in the desert plant them outside in the ground they will spread. there root system goes out it dosn't go down. thats why when you stumble upon one you stumble upon one you'll stumble upon a whole batch. the buttons grow back when you cut them off. i want to go find some its so hot here i can easily plant them in the back yard and have them spread like wild fire. lol

I want to go do peyote with the indians.
I know there is a place in AZ you can go eat it
if you join the church of the native american.
I've had san pedro, peruvian torch, and I think I had a mescaline pill
back in 1979.It was a big enough pill, like a giant sweet tart.It was called
a goofball.

You have to be 1/4 American Indian to be allowed as a member of the Native American Church. Then the Feds cannot take your peyote away.
Thats the law.
And if you want to lwearn about the real peyote ritual and how it works then read Weston LaBarre's The Peyote Cult.
It is kinda ironic that the difinitive book on their religion was written by a white man. This is the very book which Indians use to charter new churchsacross the nation.

No enthogen should be scary at ANY dose as long as you go in with a mind willing to learn. I can not wait until I get a hold of peyote... I think the wheel will finally go into motion forever.
