Illegal searches

I have plenty of people tell me how cops will do almost anything to search your car. I have heard they will even illegally search your car and possessions just to get a bust.
I think I understand my laws and I think I know what to do. But I keep hearing of cops who do illegal busts and theres nothing to be done about it.
Anyways... I was basically wondering if it is perfectly legal to use my video camera to record any and all pull overs that happen to me. I don't have to listen to the officer if he asks to put it away or anything? Any legal ramifications to my actions other then possibly saving myself?

i dont know. camera is a good idea. a cop tried to search my buddies car last year and he goes no. the cop said it looks like you have 'marijuana activity' and he goes no i dont, you cant search my car. the cop walked around the car peered in with a flashlight and whatnot. he didnt have shit on him so he had to let him go. this was for skipping through a stop sign inside a parking garage... no ticket, cop just wanted to be a dick. (there were no drugs in the car by the way anyway)

Cops have shit lives, they take it out on people. I make 5,000-20,000$ more than police in my area without a degree. I would be pissed if i was a fucker cop who was supposed to serve me. He'll never have my boat or stereo, or vacations to florida

my lawyer, told me that sometimes, if the suspect is younger like 16-18ish, highschooler's basically, that cops will sometimes, break the rules and do illegal searches and what not, fully aware that it most likely would not hold up in court, but they basically just do it so it exposes it to the parents and shit, but face no real legal punishment. They do this alot in schools and what not, being fully aware that they are violating your rights.

Don't roll your window down all the way... only enough to let sound in and out. If they ask you to step out. Roll the windows up and open the door, step out, and lock all the doors and put your keys in your pocket... If they ask why you locked your doors, say "habbit" refuse them to search. If you leave your windows down, they can stick their head in there and look around. If you leave your door open, they will search without asking. Same things apply to your home. If you roll your windows up and lock your doors after you step out, all they can do is break your windows to unlock the door, then you can serve their ass for vandalism of an automobile. Know your rights and exercise them, or you have no rights at all.

good tips, i'd say it'd be a good idea as well to video tape them if they start doing something illegal, if they get hostile, you can record it.

video tapes are legal. and come in handy.
i know this dude who has a dash mounted cam. it was aimed outside, but it still recorded audio. the cop ended up flipping shit on this kid...the cop was in the wrong on so many levels.
i think charges are actually still pending on this dick head cop.
total abuse of power.....and the kid was about 17.
mile69 says camera=good idea.
i actually have an old ass camper school bus and get pulled over just on the way i, and my vehicle look. so a nice camera system is defenateky on my to do list. both for cops, and folks who want to help themselves in on my property when im not "home".
