If i sprinkle sterilized brown rice flour on a casing that is producing weak looking mushies, will it add any noutrients that would be beneficial?

I would worry about replacing water rather than nutrients. After the nutrients are all gone, I wouldn't bother with it. Sprinkling BRF on your casing (even if it has been sterilized) will almost surely result in contamination. You don't want any uncolonized substrate to be exposed.

if you are intent on doing this...... make sure you are in a very sterile environment, and also put a layer of vermiculite over the top of the brf layer...this will hopefully keep your brf from contams (and also encourage an even pinset).......as soon as you see/smell any contams throw the case straight in the bin.

I seriously wouldn't bother. If it's dry then the mycelium can't use it, and if it's wet then it's guaranteed to get contaminated.
