They fruited in the compost bag

I am using 50/50 verm/scotts 3n1 and let the bag colonize too long. They got light for a day or 2 when I moved, and when I checked on the the other day, all my bags where fruiting. Most of them have pins everywhere.

Anyways, can I take a first flush, and then dump em in a tub spread em out, and wait for a second flush, or is my best bet at this point to take a first flush, then cut the top half of the bags off and treat them as cakes?

if you are to break them up, i would recomend adding at least a little fresh substrate. many species have a mechanism that allows them to prosper despite upheavals like being dug up by an animal like a bear. between flushes, there seems to be an ability to withstand the shock and still manage to fruit.

i'm not sure what you mean when you say treat them as cakes unless that is basicly allready what you are doing. if it aint broke don't fix it.
