Bruising??
    #808986 - 08/10/02 02:55 PM (14 years, 6 months ago)

Does anyone know of a link or have some pics they can show me of bruising?? I put about 8 cakes in my terrarium 2 days ago and know on the tops of 4 and sides of some there is a faint blue/green color. If its bruising will it be OK. Like I wouldn't have to toss my cakes would I?

Thanx a million to all that reply

if you look carefully at Johny r's pec, you will see that tiny abort mushrooms are a large part of what is turning blue. these should be removed from the cake. they stunt future growth, and they tend to get moldy.

a sharp knife will gently peel off the affected part of the cake.

if on the other hand, your cake is simply blue where you touched it, or where a lot of mist landed on it, leave it alone, all is well.

Bruising dont spread.. If what you got spreads its a contam, if it dont then its bruising..

Not all the time though. Sometimes a contam wont spread.
