MDMA clinical study

Great news. I have to share this with someone.
I replied an online ad for a medical university study involving MDMA usage and they responded with a questionnaire that asked how many times I've taken ecstasy and other drugs.
Well, a representative of the lab study called me a minute ago and asked me a few more questions regarding my medical history as a further screening. I qualified.
She told me about the study. Basically, it will be a double-blind study in which I will given a capsule that either contains ephedra, sugar, or MDMA and I will then be given various memory and cognitive tests or puzzles to complete. There will be 5 different sessions next week.
So, I have 33% chance of receiving pure laboratory-grade MDMA five different times. And they will be paying me $500 if I complete the study. And they'll be giving me a ride home each time.
Ha. How cool is this?
I am going to the university tomorrow for a quick medical and psychological screening. I am in perfect mental and physical health so I am sure I'll be accepted into the study as I've already passed the initial and more vigorous screening.
Fingers crossed I'll receive the MDMA.

so, it is official. I'm in the study. They will giving me a capsule of either amphetamine, valium, mdma, or sugar and then I will be placed into an MRI. I'll also complete various cognitive challenges and have time to relax.
The screening process was intense. I was asked a thousand questions during a 4 hour period regarding my mental health, family medical history, physical health, and past drug use. I guess I came up as someone who can handle stress well and does not have an addictive personality.
Not exactly looking forward to rolling or tweaking inside an MRI machine, but that's fine - im not claustrophobic or prone to freak outs. It'll just be boring.
I still cant believe they're paying me hundreds of dollars to consume lab-grade psychoactives like MDMA. I asked where the substances come from and the woman said the FDA has labs that synthesize and produce for studies like these. Cool.

Let us know how it goes. Would suck if you got the sugar after all that. Then again.. you'd still get payed.

That could possibly be the most badass thing I've ever heard.
So you have 5 seperate 33% chances of gettin the MDMA?
Not sure if I did the math correctly but isn't that like a 98% chance of eventually getting at least one dose of MDMA?
1.0-(.66^5) ... ? If I'm not in a math class I lose my abilities.

well the probablity of getting not mdma 5x in a row is (2/3)^5 which is 13% so he has an 87% probability to get mdma at least once assuming he has a 1/3% chance of getting mdma each time and he does this 5x each being an independent trial o man that probabiliy class is so fucking dope i was at some rave and saw this chick i new from elementary school then i saw her again that night out of thousands of people and i was frying, so i was thinking of the probability of that happeneing and it was trippin me out i love probability and statsitics its jus so dam..................................applicable lol

But because the effects of psychoactive substances are so variable, it is likely that each subject will serve as his/her own control. It's almost gauranteed to be a within subject trial, which means everyone will get all the drugs + a placebo.

That sounds correct.
Has anyone participated in a study like this before? I'm not having second thoughts, but the idea of eating MDMA or an amphetamine or nodding off to some benzos while instead an MRI machine sounds kinda odd. I've only rolled while listening to music or laying in bed with a girlfriend or dancing or having deep conversations. I can handle it, but it'll be real boring. ha. maybe I'll be able to listen to some music at least.

she took notes of you smoking a cigarette?
Oh, one thing I forget to mention is I asked about the dosage of the substances. She could not provide me that information but said whatever amount I'll be taking is considered safe by the FDA. Isnt that interesting? Within the avenue of a clinical study, MDMA is safe to injest, but when the War on Drugs gets mixed in, MDMA is never safe.
