What if wbs jars appear dry, and too much gypsum was added?

what if your wbs jars are appearing dry and gypsum is on the inside? I'm guessing it only appears dry but the grains have soaked up the water. Is it normally the case that jars just seem to dry?

the wbs was filtered good. It was put in a strainer and brought down hard and then I abrubtly stopped it so the G-force would pull the water through so I wouldnt have to wait 30 minutes

The outside kernels should be dry if you did everything right. What you want is the moisture to be inside the kernels.

Whoa you used half a quart of gypsum for 4 quarts of wbs????? when i do my jars i just add a small knife tip for every quart jar so maybe a teaspoon for 5 and a tablespoon for 10.

I think it should be ok so long as my water content is alright. I want to open a jar to stick my finger in, but it's probably fine
